I am an experienced educator with a passion for teaching and helping students reach their full potential. With over a decade of experience in the field, I have had the opportunity to work with students of all ages and abilities, and have developed a deep understanding of the importance of individualized instruction and differentiated learning. My professional background includes teaching 5th and 6th grade at Wolf Branch Middle School in Swansea, Illinois since August 2010. Prior to that, I taught 7th grade English and Language Arts at Whiteside Middle School from August 2008 to May 2010. In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I have also been actively involved in extracurricular activities, serving as a dance coach and drama club co-director at Wolf Branch Middle School from August 2010 to May 2015, and organizing the Cheer and Dance Camp at Branch Middle School from May 2008 to 2014. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University, with a focus on self-contained K-9 education, as well as certifications in Learning Behavior Specialist I K-9 and Social Science K-9. I also have a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University, where I focused on General Administrative K-12. In addition to my professional experience, I have also volunteered my time as a camp counselor at the Boys and Girls Club in Carbondale, Illinois from May 2006 to July 2007, and as a Special Education Teacher at the Belleville Area Special Schools Cooperative in Belleville, Illinois during summer school sessions since June 2021. I am passionate about helping students succeed and creating a positive learning environment that fosters growth, development, and creativity.
